About Maggie


Registered Dietitian and Lactation Consultant
Maggie earned her Bachelor of Science in Human Nutrition and Food Science from Colorado State University (Magna Cum Laude) and completed her post-graduate work at Ball Memorial Hospital in Muncie, Indiana.  She is a Registered Dietitian (RD) through accreditation by the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics, formerly the American Dietetics Association.  She is currently a member of the German Nutrition Professionals group. 

Since 2008 Maggie has been qualified as an International Board Certified Lactation Consultant (IBCLC). She has practiced maternal, infant and pediatric nutrition through the Indiana Women, Infants, and Children Program (WIC), as an Indiana University Pediatric Nutrition Fellow at Riley Children's Hospital, and as a Clinical Newborn Intensive Care Unit Dietitian at Wishard Hospital (currently Eskenazi Health).  Maggie regularly attends the regional meetings for German Lactation Professionals. 


International Experience

In addition to her experience as a dietitian, Maggie has a bachelor of Arts in French and European Studies from Vanderbilt University.  She spent two years living in Toyama Prefecture, Japan in the Japan Exchange and Teaching Program (JET). 

Maggie met her husband in Japan and they currently live in Lichterfelde, Berlin, Germany with their two daughters. She has passed German Language Proficiency level C1. She is currently studying clinical exercise science at the University of Potsdam. 


Active Lifestyle

Maggie is a competitive triathlete, winning 1st place at Xterra Schorfheide 2012, 2nd place at Half-Ironman Spreewald 2013, and 2nd place at Spreewald Olympic Distance 2016.  She completed the Berlin Marathon in 2013, Berlin Inline Marathon 2014 and is a United States Masters Swimming Champion. She enjoys trail running, ballet, biking and lake swimming with friends and family.
